The Facial Expression

I went to the Billings Livestock Sale last weekend and as I was wondering around, I often ran into this draft cross paint horse. His name was Pirate and he was a very expressive guy whenever he was around people or when his owner stopped to chat others up. I'm glad I caught his expression of playing with his lip as he had time to relax and everyone else was busy with their own horses. He was definitely a pleasure getting to see at BLS.

Alex Saberi

I happened to stumble upon one of Alex's photos of a bunch of deer and got more intrigued when I looked more through his photographs. Alex Saberi is a National Geographic photographer from London and takes many wildlife photos, which he has won awards for. When I looked through his photos, they seemed almost mystical to me and almost as if God's light was shining on them. They really caught my attention with the way he used light in his photography. You should check him out at: http://www.alexsaberi.com/
This photo was taken by Alex Saberi and is from his Richmond Park series. He has many deer pictures with cool effects on how the light hits their breathe and many other photos from places he has traveled.

Ocean Life

I really enjoy being near the ocean and love taking lots of landscape pictures of the ocean whether it's at sunset, cloudy, or sunny. I also enjoy getting the chance of taking pictures of sea creatures or birds that I happen to stumble upon on my walk to the beach.
This guy I really enjoyed taking a picture and he didn't mind that I was right in front of him. He seemed to like having his picture taken.
I found these beautiful flowers all alone on a bench and decided to capture their beauty as the sun was setting.

I really enjoy the bright colors the sunset had displayed in the sky and some of the flowers that are in view, but in the shadows. This is one of my favorite landscape photos of the ocean.

Lone Leopard

I ran across this photo of a leopard on Google and I had to stop and admire the photo. There was something about the photo being taken at night and all the vast black space to the right of the photo that caught my attention. There was beauty in the light shining on the single leopard and he seemed to fit perfectly into the rule of thirds. I wanted to know more of what the leopard's attention was focused on. The part we couldn't see made the picture seem more mysterious.
I decided to look up the wildlife photographer Shaun Walton and found he was well known for his black and white photos of the lion and leopard in Africa. Many of his pictures drew me in with the way he used lighting and the facial expressions of the animals in the night photos. I also loved the way he captured portraits of some of the other animals too, such as rhinos and elephants. He's definitely someone worth checking out.
